We have to keep plugging along and not worry about numbers (like I'm sure most of us are doing). We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. All we can do is continue to do everything possible to get as many pledges as we can. And then let the chips fall where they may.

From what I've experienced at the telethons, pledge tables, and converstaiton with people, it's just hard to sell full seasons. I'd put  a number at about 90% who want flex packs, not seasons. Most go as far as saying they'd get two 10 game flex packs instead of a half season because they don't want to be held down to specific dates that far in advance.

Yeah, I have to agree 3,000 is a bit too much to ask in 1 1/2 months. From reading the article, things sound promising that we will get a team next year, even if we do fall short in the season ticket drive.

Everything appears to be in place to get a team here.....SMG, Worcester, and the AHL wants a team here next season. The DCU Center already made plans to make it better economically here for a team. Worcester is also such a central, convenient location with 8 teams in easy driving distance. In the Worcester Hockey show from Channel 3, I remember them saying how other teams stayed in Worcester because of the city's great location.

With all this, I can't see why the AHL would pass Worcester up....I don't see any other places that would be better or even as good as Worcester. Last year's attendance average was still better than some of the team's this year....so I can't see why the AHL or any ownership group wouldn't put a team here.

But, as for the season ticket drive, I will honestly say that I don't think our goal will be reached. But I hope people will prove me wrong, I really do.

Does anyone know of any other cities that are holding season ticket pledge drives, besides us and Cincinnati (for their team they already have)?

Another example: Omaha (NEW TEAM) - Avg 2800 in their 1st season. :(  Lowell 3080 avg.  5 teams under 3500 avg per AHL web site

For those who don't get the paper, Bill Ballou has an article about our situation.  Basically saying as of today, they think only 2000 will be sold by dec 31.  Hopefully he will be wrong and in the next 3 weeks things will get busier.  I didnt like the fact he says there are no fans in Worcester for the AHL.  I still say its a harder sell to get 3,000 in 1 1/2 months for somthing that is not "Officially" announced.  If they had announced a team, I would think pledges would of been a bit faster comming in.  Cincy's only looking at selling 2,000 season tix's in their pledge.

Read on - and we still have 3 weeks to go!  He refered this as a Tom Brady last minuet drive and not a hail mary pass.
