I actally have done both in the past. My letter to the editor was published, my letter to the DCU went unanswered as was expected.
There are a lot of people who have put in huge effort and it is admirable and I hope the team sees some sort of way to repay them. It just reallly pissed me off when I heard about the strong arming of the vendors. That is not right at all. From what I was told from one of the vendors this is not standard procedure anywhere else. I wish the team all the luck in Worcester. They seem very energetic and have a strong management team. The Icecats also had a good management team the last few years, their marketing lacked a little but I thought the management of the game and fan operations were great. Thigs really took a positive turn when Kevin took over. It was sad to see them go.

I don't pat myself on the back, and in fact think that there are people that worked harder than I did that haven't gotten enough credit.
If you have a complaint about what the DCU may or may not have done you can contact them at info@dcucenter.com
If you wish to write a letter to the editor about it you can e-mail letters@telegram.com
But you'll find some reason not to do either, right? |

Wether I purchased tickets or not has nothing to do with the tactics of the DCU Center. I dont think the season starts for a while so whats the hurry. If you cant keep on topic of the thread or contribute in some sort of constructive manor, perhaps you should STFU.
Just for the record I dont blame the Sharks organisation for this at all, it all the DCU. And I think the work that a lot of the people here did to help get a team was admirable, I never said it wasnt. I hope your arm doesnt get sore from patting yourself on the back though.

I purchased tickets when I was confident I could pay for them. My wife has gone back to school so tuition comes before hockey tickets. I've made no secret of that, and despite not knowing if I would be able to get seaon tickets I continued to do everything I could to get a team here.
And I'm glad to see the worthless trolls have returned. But I think you'll be surprised to find that the folks here aren't going to put up with the troublemakers. Lots of people have worked far too hard to get a team here to have the same bunch of people posting crap just to cause trouble. |

I ask again Longtimefan2...did you buy tickets or not?
If you didn't, then STFU as you have no right to complain about anything.
If you did, e-mail your concerns to info@dcucenter.com
Of course, you can't be anonymous by complaining in person...not that you're really anonymous anyway as I know who you are. |

| Does anyone know if this is common practice in other arenas - or maybe having to buy season tickets to the main draw?
To me it doesn't matter. They'll probably just raise prices on stuff that I don't buy already because it's too expensive in there, but I'd be interested if the DCU was the only place that does this. |

Whether Longtimefan2 bought tickets is irrelevant to this thread. A fact was stated and then Longtimefan2 was spoken to in a condescending way. 210, until you can use this message board in a civil and appropriate way, please refrain from posting going forward
WOW
Someone here actually sticking up for me. It is typical of 210, once presented with a fact he will try to stear the conversation off in another direction. He is very very knowledgeable about hockey but he does not appear to be good at life skills.
I try to only deal with facts, not opinions. Check with the vendors, you will find it is true |

Sorry 210 but I dont live on here like you do. Someone else answered the question though. vendors like Friendlys, the shirt vendors who do non hockey events etc...
It is a fact, not negativity. If you need proof, as Steve from Friendlys next time you are at the DCU or the T-Shirt vendor who does most of the concerts.
It would be great for all the vendors and supporting business in the area to buy tickets, but it should be their choice, not a buy tickets or you cant run your stand here.
Just typical off the Queen |

| This is true that they made the vendors buy season tickets. The Friendly's booth was told they had to support the team and buy at least 2 tickets. HE bought them for his brother-in-law. We talked to him at both the seating party and the NCAA hockey games. |

| Right you are. Worcester has always had more than its fair share of "nattering nabobs of negativity". I'm accustomed to it. Some of us work to make things better, others prefer to sit back and complain. |

| I suppose he means the people that sell the cotton candy and popcorn. They're a different company than the people that work at the concessions. I actually did talk to one of them during the seat selection party and he was buying season tickets. I don't know if he was forced into it though. |

Your right, welcome to Woosta, too bad for the Vendors if that's the way they are doing it, if they just asked nice the Vendors would probably buy some anyway, oh well same old City. |

I was just informed the the DCU is making it mandatory for any of the Non DCU vendors to buy Sharks season tickets. It this how they are trying to build up the sales numbers. Pittifull but not surprising with the current DCU management team.
Holding the vendors hostage, I cant wait to see what Sandy can come up with next. |
